I found the fmc character was extremely likeable and natural. I appreciated the way the author had her reflect and the difficult conversations that she had with her family, friends and love interest. I found the way the author talked about micro and macro aggressions in the Venture Capital/Silicon Valley community towards women and moreover Asian women nuanced and enlightening.

DNF — May 2024

Stopped 40% in. This book feels very shallow, and there isn’t much chemistry in the romance — nor have I been given a reason to care for them/root for them when it comes across as existing only for the plot point. Also, the way she is treating her characters is very cringe; it’s the behavior of a teenager instead of a 34 year old.
