I wish I liked this book more 😫

I really, REALLY wanted to love this. I thought the premise was great and was pretty certain I was going to love it. But it just fell flat for me. It kind of somehow felt like way too much was going on while also nothing was really happening? I’m keeping some stars here because I still stand by the premise being a strong concept and I really enjoyed the representation of women in the tech industry.

Another great read by an author who understands how dynamic women can be, and how much they deserve to love, grow and thrive.

This book was way too heavy on the whole....for lack of a better word, "woke" linguistics and honestly--complaining and harping. I am by no means an oppressive person, but we didn't go a page without her pointing something ridiculous out in a way that just personally made me roll my eyes. So I just decided to put the book down, and let someone else enjoy it! It could also be that I didn't particularly enjoy the narrator (audio book).

An alright read but I found the main character really annoying.
She said she was still dealing with the ramifications of Jia sending those emails, but she wasn’t? Her landlord gave her money back, she reconnected with Harry and Naomi, and her parents apologised. I get why she was upset but she ultimately suffered no ill consequences so her treatment of Jia was a little unfair imo. Glad she realised that in the end though

Not to sound all ‘old man yells at cloud’ but please, please don’t let ‘unalive’ become a word people say in books, unironically. Especially characters that are meant to be in their mid-thirties.
