OK HEAR ME OUT! Is this book the greatest work of fiction? Definitely not. Does it nail its genre with hilarious banter, imaginative characters, and good pacing? Yes. Loved it! Just the kind of lightheaded read I needed.

I know this is a bully romance, I get that yes, but damn y’all. This one was rough. I haven’t wanted to dick punch a character so hard since Seth in zodiac academy.

Kings of Quarantine (Brutal Boys of Everlake Prep #1) by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti

I swore I would never read a pandemic type book. Living it, don’t want to read about it. Then I did a thing. I decided to listen to this book while trying to do a few things around the house. Listening turned into also reading it, which caused me to abandon the book I was reading and now here I am completely captivated. Can’t stop, won’t stop this series.

Basic premise is Tatum has been left at Everlake Prep boarding school by her father during the Hades pandemic. He’s a virologist so he has shit to do.
Upon arriving at her new school Tatum discovers there is a very pronounced hierarchy. Three boys, Saint, Kyan and Blake rule over the school. Students and faculty differ to, fear them and follow their demands. They have named themselves The Night Keepers after a Native American Legend.
News channels report that Tatums father is responsible for the virus outbreak and The Night Keepers decide to punish Tatum by claiming her and making her life a living hell.
Tatums only saving grace is the relationship she’s formed with Coach Monroe who doesn’t fear the boys and has a person vendetta against Saint.

This series is an RH but we haven’t seen any of that yet. Tatum has formed unique relationships with each boy but is angry about how she has been treated and wants revenge. They are obsessed with her but continue to treat her like property.

Each male character is well developed and there are hints to their back story that has made them into the monsters that they are. Tatum is strong, independent and capable. She is a worthy opponent to their ruthlessness.

Holy moly this book was so addicting!!!! This book was the first of a series and it was mostly introducing the characters and building the story up.

Holy holy darkness. This book is BRUTAL, but — if you’re into that sort of thing — the character backgrounds are absolutely captivating.

After Tatum’s dad is needed to fight the Hades Virus, she finds herself at Everlake Prep with three of the most brutal boys, the Night Keepers. News outlets start circulating conspiracies about Tatum’s father, which leaves her as the Night Keeper’s number one target. Forcing her to ‘bond’ with them as repayment for her father’s mistakes, Tatum endures the monsters within the boys. How long can the Night Keepers blame her for someone else’s actions? Will Tatum break from their torture or will she find a way to break them?

Before starting this series, PLEASE read trigger warnings. This book is EXTREMELY dark and is a true bully dark romance. It is loosely based off the pandemic, which some readers might also find upsetting.

Kings of Quarantine is book one of the Brutal Boys of Everlake Prep series. Each character has secrets surrounding their past & a hidden darkness/monster within themselves… which caused me to devour the book. I NEED to know more about what the hell has happened to Tatum, Saint, Kyan, and Nash. I’ve already started book two!

It took me a minute to get into but I’m definitely invested. I’m reading this during the 3rd wave of Covid so it definitely feels relatable at times. The book is set in a school but it doesn’t feel too young or YA for me not to connect to the characters.

Ok! Can I say - lucky girl! Not necessarily the whole "being tortured due to a misunderstanding" part but the part the 3 very hot alpha-holes with God complexes want to bind her to them. Then, add smexy teacher trying to protect his student (then the entire school) - ill touch the stone!

This was a reread for me- read it for the first time last year and was immediately hooked. I missed the characters so I decided read them again. Book one was just as tough to read as I remembered. Heavy on the bullying. It was easier this time because I knew how much I’d end up loving the guys.

Hmmmm 3.5 stars. I wasn’t sure about this book for the first half, but I think it’s got me! I’m not 100% sold but I am gonna continue to read the rest of the series.

Kings of Quarantine focuses on a prep school that’s basically self sufficient miles away from anything. Run by a ruthless group of guys they set their sights on Tatum and end up making her ‘theirs’ to do with as they please. There’s a virus taking over the world and they’re isolated from everyone else until an epic fight scene at the end when the looters come.

So… it’s meant to be reverse harem and the tension was definitely there but the lack of spice was so sad to me with only a couple of solo scenes throughout (hot scenes nevertheless

I devoured this book
