Cute. Lighthearted. Not a bad plot. I liked the look into modern Hindi culture.
I’m a very generous star rater, but One of my pet peeves is overuse of certain words and phrases. Unfortunately, there was some of that in this book. The main one being “a pregnant pause.” Yikes. Otherwise, she did alright.
Some of it seems far fetched, but who knows? I’m not a part of the crime lord ring haha- this could be on point!

Delightfully funny and exciting! This romcom follows Mira and Naveen, and it’s a second chance with a heist element for a twist. Mira and Naveen dated a few years ago, but some personal anxieties drove Mira to break up with him. When her aunt dies, Mira has to see to her estate only to find out that her aunt’s attorney is her ex-boyfriend. While the book deals with a lot of past trauma, the humor helps to balance out the reading experience. Mira’s family dynamics for example are not great, to say the least, but she finds community and love in a mix of past family acquaintances and friends.

The love story with Mira and Naveen essentially reignites over the course of one very eventful day. They get into a number of funny but also life threatening mishaps that make you chuckle but might also make you hold in your breath in anticipation. I really enjoyed this one. It’s funny and ridiculous, and sometimes you just need that combination.

2.5 Stars

I had great hopes for this after reading and loving the author's Modern Love series, and for about 80% of the book everything was great. Both Mira and Naveen were brilliant and had very interesting personal stories, their chemistry was off the charts, the second chance romance was swoony, and the whole plot was fast-paced and fun in an over-the-top way. Unfortunately, the ending was absolutely preposterous. I still enjoyed the book a lot, but by the third twist it was definitely way too much to just roll my eyes and let it go.

Absolutely love the action and adventure combined with a second chance romance! Great characters and really fun read!
