It’s fascinating to see the reasons why extroverted people are the ones who are particularly esteemed in the workplace, church, and society. I found this to be well researched, well written, and an empowering treatise for people who “live in their head” a little more than most.

Was one of those rare books that made me feel as if Susan Cain saw and understood me as an individual. Explaining the inherent differences between those on the introvert/extrovert spectrum in a straightforward, non-judgmental, and practical manner. Cain dives into cultural origins, preferences, and consequences of what she calls 'the extroverted ideal' and its effect on personal success, stress, self-worth, etc.

DNF'd after about 100-150 pages. More technical/scientific that I expected (length of gene alleles, processing dopamine, etc) and used famous historical figures I wasn't really interested in (Warren Buffett, Eleanor Roosevelt, Ghandi). Not for me at this time.

I found this book interesting and very relevant as an introvert, but as a non-American the book felt very American and it seemed to me there was a lot of glorifying businessmen / other rich people which i didn't love.
