Y'all it's a Blake Crouch and he will give you exactly what you expect. Nothing overly complex + straight adrenaline in a book

Left me wanting more. I feel like this entire series could have been one book, then a sequel about the next era. I honestly didn’t see the ending coming, though it’s not actually that surprising. I liked the penultimate scene with

Little neater of a clean up than I would have liked but still enjoyed the ending. The stakes in book 2 were much higher and the mystery really drove the first one. Overall loved the series and definitely worth reading even with the bow ribbon ending.

Not quite as good as the first two, but there’s no denying that this book starts with a bang, continues with a bang, and ends with a bang. This thing MOVES. The main issue I have with it is that while there’s a lot of action, the actual plot progression is actually pretty slow. I could summarize what happens in this book in a few pretty short paragraphs because so much of the book could be summarized by saying “a fight ensues.” I also found the ending to be unsatisfying, but this was always going to be a tough one to land. Without spoiling anything, the ending is vague enough that you almost have to fill in the blanks yourself to determine whether this has a happy ending or not. That’s not really what I wanted from this, but a more concrete ending may also have been significantly less satisfying than what we got. Imperfect, for sure, but certainly not bad.
