I felt myself skimming this as much and as quickly as possible. The plot felt pretty forced even given the genre.

It was an easy read, but the characters were honestly frustrating to read and were pretty darn unlikeable (even the kid :x sad to say...).

Thoughts

A story about a missing person always draws me in. In this case it is famous news reporter Lily Atwood whose older sister Cassie disappeared when she was 7 years old. She has done a good job keeping both her past and her personal life out of the spotlight until now. An anonymous source has been feeding Lily and her producer Greer, story tips, but now they are asking questions about her missing sister and they know the identity of her daughter's father. Lily fears that if her past life surfaces she will be ruined forever. It's a cat and mouse game, and the cat needs to win.
What a story. One that makes me happy that I'm not in the spotlight. I like how the chapters alternate between Lily, Cassie and Greer. It always chills me to read the missing persons life leading up to the moment they vanish because you know it's coming.

Just when I think I know what's happening, it changes and I'm back to square one. This is an ever changing story line so pay close attention. We go back and forth from finding out the identity of the father and the events surrounding Cassie's disappearance all those years ago. I will admit I was not as invested in finding out about Lily's past with her daughter's father. For me that took away from finding out what happened to Cassie!

Overall this was a suspenseful read, and I recommend you grab your copy on September 14th!

Lily has the perfect life, at least according to social media and the hashtag perfect Lily. But is anyone perfect? Who is the father of her daughter? And what about Lily's family? When it looks like a secret that makes her appear less than perfect is about to be revealed what will Lily do to keep it from being revealed?

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an arc for my honest review

I read this book in 2 days a good indiction of how much I liked it. It was engaging, I liked both points of view (Lily & Greer) and I liked how it jumped between the past and the present.

This had a pretty good mysterious thread that could go in a few directions. It was entertaining although the characters were a bit one dimensional.

Lily is a TV reporter who seems to have a perfect life. Greer is her producer who seems to envy Lily. And Cassie is Lily’s sister who went missing years ago. When an anonymous source begins sharing things about Cassie, Lily is determined to finally find out what happened to her sister. This book kept me turning the pages to find out what happened to Cassie, as well as to find out who the mysterious source was that seemed to know all. I thought the missing person mystery was somewhat unique, and I didn’t figure out the reveal ahead of time.

Lily Atwood, famed tv reporter, Mom and sister. A very famous tv reporter with her own secrets. A secret like her missing sister, Cassie. Whatever happened to her sister when she disappeared, is she dead or did she leave on her own accord? Now, her source for many stories as of late, has a story of his own and intends on getting her producer, Greer involved.

This story, just like all of Hanks was so good! The suspense, the thrills and mystery of the sister and secrets just keeps you on the edge of your seat! The writing was tremendously fantastic and really kept you wondering until the last secret was set free. I thoroughly enjoyed this and highly recommend it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you to the author, Forge Books and NetGalley for the review copy! An absolute must read that’s perfect on a long cozy weekend.
