Umm excuse while I freak out that this book ended on a cliffhanger. Not an open ended question, but the mother of all cliffhangers - this ended mid-battle, mid-scene, hell it even ended mid-sentence

Dopo aver letto "Aurora Rising" e ad esserne rimasta piacevolmente colpita, mi aspettavo grandi cose da questo libro. Le aspettative erano molte e soprattutto alte, ma sono rimasta, purtroppo, delusa.
Cerco di andare con ordine. L'aspetto che sicuramente è il primo che colpisce è la presenza di tantissimi, troppi, punti di vista. Generalmente, si sceglie la tecnica di un punto di vista multiplo, quando questo porta un arricchimento alla storia, ma dal mio punto di vista, questa scelta non è stata ben pensata. I diversi punti di vista, non hanno arricchito la storia, perché da un punto di vista di un personaggio mi aspetto di capirne la sua personalità, di ricavare informazioni che, senza i suoi pensieri, non sarei riuscita a captare, ma in questo caso siamo di fronte a qualcosa di altamente piatto.

Ugh, seriously, what kind of cliffhanger ending was that!!!
This book took my heart, crushed it, threw it on the floor, and then stomped on it. And I loved every second of it.
Continuing on with their amazing writing style, Kaufman and Kristoff brought squad 312 back into my life and didn't give them a break the entire time. I'm pretty sure that I held my breathe the whole time I was reading until the end when I broke into uncontrollable sobs. I have never wanted characters to not split up and stay all together in one place so much before in my life.
This book is a master piece and I'll be over here quietly weeping and hoping until the next book comes out.

Really??! Don't read this until the third one is out!
Overall I think I liked this sequel better than Aurora Rising. The characters had already been introduced and the world had already been established. This allowed the beginning to start off right in the middle of the action and it was awesome! However I found that towards the middle I got a little bit bored of the plot (maybe I just got a bit tired of the world since I read this immediately after Aurora Rising). BUT THE ENDING wow. If these authors know how to do anything its write an amazing cliffhanger that makes you NEED to read the next book. Overall I really enjoyed the way the plot went. The way they get themselves into a situation and then brilliantly find a way out of it is so cool. The characters are great too and I like how each one has their own voice in the chapters and their own arcs. Personally, Finnian, Zila, and Tyler are my favs
