I loved this one more than the first . It was faster, it played further into characters I came to love and it was overall very well plotted out. It got me so excited for the finale

*sigh* this book was fine. It tried so hard to not have classic middle book syndrome but there was too much going on at all times for a set up and it kind of was jumbled.
General thoughts (avoid May be spoilers)
-every time Kal talked about his “inner monster” I wanted to scream. They say is so much and it’s so dumb, just say instinct or inner voice or something, it was way to repetitive.
-Auri’s training to burn it all down is so similar to Aangs training for the avatar state that I was just kinda shocked. It also felt forced.
-Kal’s big reveal was not that surprising, and I knew people would react poorly but the fact that Auri reacted the way she did pissed me off enough that she became one of my least favorite characters almost immediately .
-also the Ty and Scar revelation makes sense but felt kind of forced.
-Fin, Ty and Zila were the rockstars of this book.

AMAZING book Kal deserves better though. Auri continues to be both the main character and the most boring character but I still like her well enough.
