Ginger Scott

3.88 AVERAGE

I would give this a solid 4.5 stars. This is the second Ginger Scott book I read, and I wish more people were aware of her. She is a gem in the NA romance world; a writer who does not write about relationships riddled with stalking and obsessiveness. Her characters tend to be troubled or haunted and the book are about their healing as it romance.

Rowe has not really been living for 2 years, and then she goes to college and meets Nate Preeter. The book made me laugh so many times. The pranks between Rowe, Nate, and Ty were hysterical. I adored the way Nate and Rowe joked with each other. Nate won my heart with how sensitive and sweet and patient he was.

This book does need an ugly cry warning, but it was so worth it. I already love Ginger Scott, but I loved her more after learning that she will follow on with Ty and Cass's story. Ty and Nate might be brothers and best friends, but Ty is much different than Nate and I cannot wait to see into his mind.

This Is…A Great Coming Of Age Romance

I’m trying to read the books I’ve had in my kindle forever and this book had been sitting unread since 2017 and shame on me for not reading it sooner as I really liked it. While I like the more angsty reads, I do love a good coming of age romance and this one ticked most of my boxes although the ending left me a bit cold.

This story is about Rowe and Nate who are both Freshman in college in Oklahoma and live down the hall from each other in the dorms. Nate has his future planned out as he’s there to play baseball, get drafted and play in the major leagues one day. Rowe on the other hand isn’t too sure what she wants to major in because she’s just trying to get through the day. Rowe had something terrible happen to her 2 years ago that eats away at her constantly and makes her feel guilty to even be alive. When Nate and Rowe meet, Nate falls hard instantly as she’s exactly his type but because Rowe has some demons to slay they take things slow. This results in a beautiful coming of age story about falling in love, second chances and learning to love yourself flawed or not.

While I really liked this book, I hated the abrupt ending. It’s a happy for now type ending with no epilogue. I felt like both of them had come so far that a sneak peek into their future would have been nice or at least a follow up novella. I will say that I found this book to be a bit unrealistic sometimes when it came to the deep subject matter and their ages. Nate and Rowe are only 18 and it seemed almost implausible that Nate would be mature enough to understand what Rowe was going through. Overall though I really liked this book and really want to keep reading this series especially since the next book is about Ty and Cass whose relationship starts around the same time as Nate and Rowe’s. I’m interested to see how this author will tackle these characters who have a unique set of challenges going on in both their lives.

This book was... eh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I liked the overall theme of overcoming past traumas, and the way they didn't make the boyfriend the "cure" for all the girl's problems. However, the overall plot was a little messy. It wasn't horrible, but I kept waiting for a big conflict for the couple to overcome when it was just, kind of boring.

I also didn't love either of the main characters. Nate was fine, but I didn't fall in love with him, I was just kind of indifferent. Rowe is kind of one of those "not like other girls" girls. I absolutely hate when the main character puts down other girls because they value appearance or dress nice. As a society, we've grown past the need to bash "basic" girls. It's one of my biggest book pet peeves and this book would've definitely been three stars if it weren't for that.

Overall, the book wasn't bad and I generally enjoyed it, but I wouldn't read it again. I'll probably forgot I read it within the week.

When I picked up this book I wasn't sure what to expect. I honestly was slightly skeptical because the synopsis on the back seemed like it could go one way or the other.

It went the BEST way possible. Such an amazing story. Only four books have ever made me cry and this was one of them. I hit the full spectrum of emotions while reading this.

And for Nate...newest book boyfriend. Melt melt melt.

Please give this book a try. You will not be disappointed. It's now one of my top favorite books and I've read plenty of books. I also don't typically take time to review books but this one deserved a shout out.

Way to go Ginger Scott!

Just calling Ginger Scott an author is too simplistic, she's a writing magician. I have read several book written by Ms. Scott and have immensely enjoys each one, and the books have stayed with me long after I was finished reading them. While N.A. romances are not my go to genre, I know that if it's written my Ms. Scott it'll be well worth it. This is Falling is in no way an exception.

Rowe survived a life altering trauma when she was in high school. Now she's a freshman in college, and she has move several states from home in the hopes of starting a new chapter in her life. Nate isn't looking for a relationship, but that all changes when he runs into Rowe in an empty dorm hallway. But will Rowe be able to open her heart after everything that she's been through, and will Nate still be there when she's finally ready?

This book is emotionally packed, with past trauma, new love, and some heartache. As with many others books that I've read from Ms. Scott, this book did not fail to bring me to tears when the emotions hit the fan. The characters within this book are multidimensional and you can easily connect with them. My favorite part of this book by far was the prankster ways of the main characters; it lent to funny scenes within the story that helped counter balance some of the sadness. This was for sure another home run book for Ginger Scott!

It was a bit predictable but i loved It, not as much as Wild Reckless but It was pretty good!

This book for me was all the mushy, nice romance I needed. Nice, proper romance! Not bad boy meets girl, makes a huge mistake and then fixes it somehow and everyone is happy.
This is one of the more genuine, love stories I thought. It is not filled with lots of 'typical' college crap of parties and drugs (Though, there is a small amount) and it was nice to go from the usual stories to something that honestly came across as more... wholesome.

Rowe is a great character, she's basically been a recluse for two years after a terrible accident in high-school before deciding to go to a college quite far away and choose to stay with two random room mates that she's not even sure she's going to be able to get along with. We get to watch her go through the struggles of "Am I really doing this? Am I going to get along with people? Maybe I should go back home" but she manages to get through, push herself. Rowe has missed a lot of firsts and forgotten about a lot of social things (Being drunk, even just remembering how to flirt) and again we see her coming out of her shell thanks to Nate.

Nate is the romantic guy that every one wishes for at some point in their life, he is basically an absolute sweet heart. Nate is constantly thinking about Rowe, taking his time to really let her express herself. With him she can really let go and not worry, a great example being the practical jokes and humor that they have between each other. He also makes sure that she understands that yes, he will wait for her even right from the get go. Even though he doesn't know what she has been through, but obviously something serious, he is slow with her and is careful to not make things difficult and awkward for both of them.

This book is a slow burn when it comes to the romance side, as Rowe deals with the emotional trauma of the event that happened to her Nate realizes that he can't just jump as this could shut Rowe out completely. Seeing as Rowe has been by herself for two years, with only her parents and a therapist as any sort of human contact you can see why Nate understands. Ginger Scott has really made it so you get emotionally invested in these two characters, before she throws you into the deep end with their first everything. The letter at the end from Nate to Rowe being the big heart cruncher.

Being the first book I have read from Ginger Scott, I am definitely interested in reading all of her other books (Already added to my To-Read list) especially if they can come across as charming as this book. I am not sure how I will end up liking Ty and Cass (two good secondary characters) story, but I think Ty's whole background story will drag me in for sure.
