My favorite book of the series. I love the way everyone’s stories started to tie in together. I’m also so happy Realm got some redemption and a happy ending. He was always my favorite character so I was happy to see him again. I wish it all didn’t have to end why can’t my favorite series just go on forever!!!
Would use caution choosing to read if you’re experiencing depression.

I can’t believe I’m done with this series already! I feel like I just started these books! I really love this series— the characters, the plot, the interconnected nature of the universe and the different books, and the mental health connection. This one wrapped it all up nicely with a bow, although part of me wishes it wasn’t wrapped up that nicely? Feels kinda lame to make it a happy ever after after 5 books of fucking insanity but I get it, I really do. Wes and Tate are still my favorite couple of the 3, although I’m glad we got some more sloane and James in this one too. I’m sure I’ll reread this series again soon and find even more to be obsessed with but overall this was really fun
It took me the full six books of this series to finally narrow down what I like and dislike about the whole thing: I love the premise, the dystopia, the sci-fi, etc. I dislike the characters and everything to do with their interpersonal relationships. When the books focused on the greater scheme of The Program/The Grief Department, I was most intrigued. When they focused on the character romances and friendships, I could not care less. All of my issues calling these books "cheesy," "immature," or "annoying," were because of the CHARACTERS and how they interacted with each other. I cannot commend the author enough for creating the society built up within this series because it is a brilliant idea, but I feel it seriously lacks in impact because of how the characters were written into it. This, to me, would have thrived as a sci-fi dystopia series rather than trying to make each book intertwined with romance.
As for The Complication specifically, I (of course) have the same "complaints" as before. Immature characters making rash and poor decisions in the name of "love," abrupt/rushed ending, and the feeling of trying to cram in as much "punch" near the end as possible. I did enjoy the convergence of all the mini-series, but some of it felt forced just trying to make it all fit together. The revelations about The Program and the science/creation behind it were the best parts of this book.
In all, this series makes me feel conflicted. The premise was so good (4/5 stars) but the character execution was so poor in my opinion (1.5/5 stars).

The last book in The program series. I am sad to see it go but happy in how the author wrapped all of the books together.
I am glad she brought back all of the main chat from all the other books prior. In the prior books it didn’t ever feel like they had their happy ending. The complication made that ending for everyone! Such a great book to end with. So far this series is one of my favorites. Suicide hits close to home for me and the emotions that were felt by the characters made me feel like I could relate. A great series hands down.

All the storylines from the series were wrapped up pretty well. My only qualm is some of the dialogue in high emotion scenes were cheesy, mainly because of their repetitiveness. If you've read all the other books that came before this last one, you already know the gravity of what's going on. So the extra emphasis is unnecessary. Like, I swear... If they told Tatum "You are the cure." one more time, I was gonna throw the whole thing away.
