Very quick and easy read. Good ideas. Intriguing. I want to know what happens next but I wish these books were longer! still feels like this book is setting up the plot and storyline.

First of all Jon don't hate me for reading this before I got it for Christmas. (read it online). Nevertheless these black editions are beautiful and will look great on my bookshelf.
Now for the review: This is an amazing, very unique story. In fact, it was just what I was looking for at the time. Part mythical and fantasy equal part mystery. A young adult finds a notebook called the death note and is able to kill people by simply writing their name with their face in mind. He can also choose how and when this death occurs. His new mission in life becomes to rid the world of all evil and have a perfect utopia. That is until another young detective named L is on the case and they are consistently trying to throw each other off. It's a battle of good versus evil but you have no idea what side to be one. I also am simultaneously watching the anime as I read. All and all this is a great story and I will later have a full series review on the 6th volume when I make it there.
Read it though, it's a great story. I do however recommend buying it to support the author and the translators, I only read it online because I know I got the first vol. for Christmas. If you do decide to read this let me know your thoughts!
