Easy to read book, a bit silly and ridiculous, not a standard alien story.
There were some graphic scenes/descriptions (gore, domestic violence) that were too much for me and seemed to be there for free.
Feels very American based and I had to look up a few words to understand what was going on, sad to read that in the future with lots of aliens people are still getting plagues with ridiculous and unplayable medical bills.

Totally fun! Space westerns seem like a really hard genre to pull off, at least in terms of getting the best parts of both sci-fi and old west to feel right and this book hits everything perfectly.  I'd love to live on this planet, so diverse and interesting!  Also, does anyone know what the atheists are reading for book club?

Quite a good read! It feels like a mix of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and Firefly, with a good blend of humour, sci-fi, and western elements. It could be a bit slow at times, and I felt like there was a strong tonal shift in the last third that was a bit jarring, but overall I enjoyed it.
