amazing, fantastic, awesome, fabulous... i could go on but i guess that i have to stop at some point of time. like all the other artemis fowl books, this too has been a work of pure genius, and i mean it. here's why i think that the the book was unputdownable:
1)the plot: the sheer number of twists and turns in this book was amazing. and each was better than the last. each time i thought that the surprises were over, colfer pulled up a new trick up his sleeve.they were all so unexpected!
2) the humour: mulch's teasing holly, holly's taunting artemis were all brilliant.
3)the idea: artemis fighting himself. too good. besides, i am gald that this happened. artemis is loved for three reasons:
a)his age
b)his genius
c)the fact that he's not one of the goody goody guys. holly and the others can fill that slot.
out of these three factors, the first and the last are redundant. artemis is now practically fourteen(and theoretically seventeen), and he's not bad anymore. not one bit. the transition from good to bad was great, but not the aftermath. but that's just fine 'cause just when you start to thimk that artemis is losing his uniqueness, colfer brings out his past self, whose just as young and evil as ever. so once again colfer is a true genius.
4) the characters: brave holly, funny mulch, fanatic koboi, the blundering mervall twins... they're all brilliant.
and if all this isn't enough to make a mindblowing,out-of-the-ordinary book, then nothing is.

In this installment of the Artemis Fowl series, the theme is emotional development rather than moral. The story has plot twist on plot twist on another plot twist. Starting from Artemis’s mother being sick with a disease whose cure requires a lemur. The specific lemur species became extinct eight years ago, with Artemis being involved with killing the last lemur, or so Artemis thinks he remembers. Using a new friend from the previous service, the demon warlock helps Artemis and Holly go back in time and stop the young Artemis from making the lemur extinct. Right from the start of the time-traveling adventure, it turns out that Artemis’s memory does not serve him right.

A little frustrating at times, but overall very enjoyable. I can't wait for the seventh installment to be released this July - I will miss reading about the boy genius' exploits.

A good book. You just have to make sure you can keep up with the time traveling.
