An enemies to lovers for the ages.
I was in a massive slump and decided to pick this up after seeing one of my favorite book boxes featuring them and I could not put it down! It is one of the best enemies to lust and almost lovers I have read.
Medra is fierce, snarky, independent and opinionated. She will not back down on her ideals for anyone or anything. When she is trust into this new world she knows nothing about, she faces it head on, fighting her way into belonging as much as a blightborn could.
Blake is much more than he seems. He puts on this cocky bravado for the world as he must to save face for his house, but inside he is caring to a fault, though he is fantastic at showing it in the wrong ways.
The relationship between the two is fraught with tension. This push and pull with them was giving me life! I love that Medra refuses to back down while Blake is the king of saying the wrong thing.
My heart broke at certain points in the book. I was not ready for some of the challenges Medra would face, yet she comes out stronger each and every time.
There is magic, vampires, dragons, and dwarves. It is Game of Thrones meets Harry Potter and Fourth Wing but so much better! If you love any of those plus a delicious enemies to lovers and a strong FMC, this is for you!
