Medra is bold, strong-headed, and doesn’t let her feelings overpower her better judgment. She sees things for what they are. I loved that she questioned everything wrong openly, even when she was powerless in a strange world. I admired how Medra never allowed anyone to disrespect her—especially not Blake.

What I appreciated was that she had meaningful problems to solve beyond just figuring out her feelings for Blake.

This book was amazing and refreshing. It paved the way for a perfect adventurous romantasy and gave off strong warrior female lead vibes.

Blake was adorable—swoony and protective of Medra. But at times, his overpossessiveness made his efforts feel as though he was doing it for a prize, at least from Medra’s perspective. Still, the writing was strong, giving us readers a clear understanding of his emotions.

I hope the next book delivers a solid character development arc for Blake—one where he becomes more mature and understanding. He definitely needs to step up and fight corruption, just like Medra wants him to. This loving vampire prince could use some lessons on feminism, relationships, and “how not to act like an overpossessive pup.” Yet he remains caring, loving, and a total softie at heart—for his little dragon and his closest family. I guess in next books, Medra will be clearing corruption from this vampire dominant world.
It has the perfect academia vibe, a slow-burn romantasy, and a sense of adventure. I couldn’t put it down.
