There is something really wrong with J. L. Beck.
Her genre is supposed to be contemporary romance but she only writes books where the heroine is sexually assaulted by the hero in the beginning. She purposely romanticize the sexual assaults and make us believe the heroine is not, in fact, raped because she likes it. THE HEROINE DOESN'T WANT TO BE ASSAULT THEREFORE SHE IS RAPED.
Dear author, you are disgusting and should be remove from all the book selling platforms.

Bully romance, enemies to lovers and all the drama needed for a page turner book. It's dark and addicting. I'm usually not a big fan of bully romances because of the usual same storyline and the predictable moments but this story is not the case and it was the exception. This story follows Parker who is looking for revenge because he thinks his brother was wrongfully accused for a crime he didn't commit. Parker is dark, an alpha, possessive and someone who can get what he wants. Willow is just trying to get by, she is not really close with her father and now Parker has his glare on her. I never wanted to put this book down, it was so addicting and I just wanted to know what would happen next and why it would happen. Especially when the ending came, and I couldn't see it really coming!
A book you’ll hate to love!
This is a classic bully romance, although there were times when I was a bit uncomfortable reading some scenes, I never thought Parker would actually hurt Willow or take anything she wasn’t willing to give.
Ultimately I did enjoy Hating You, although I saw one twist coming but the other came out of nowhere!
I did think Parker and Willow went from hating each other to not fairly quickly and with no real explanation but their chemistry was off the charts when they were together.
The first half of the book did make me wonder if I was meant to have read a prequel or something because a lot was written as if the reader should already know certain things but I just drew my own conclusions and they turned out to be right, but it wasn’t written in a way that made me think that was what the authors wanted you to do if that makes sense.
However this was a good enemies to more bully romance with a twist and I will be reading book 2!

This was my first “dark” bully romance and I’m just not sure how I feel. The first quarter I was hesitant about what I was reading but then I devoured the last 75% and really enjoyed it. Parker by the end was totally swoon worthy I love an alpha male but he was a bit to aggressive for me in the beginning but I guess that’s what makes it dark. I truly love this author duo their books are off the chart steamy but still have a great story line to keep you engaged. Looking forward to reviewing more by the them.

I initially read this book shortly after it came out in 2019. I had given it 3 stars then. I must’ve been in a mood or something because this is definitely more of a 4 star read to me.
It’s not perfect by any means but it was really good. I read Hurting You from this series yesterday. I truly thought I had read book 2, Breaking You but I apparently didn’t. I wouldn’t have skipped over it on purpose. Upon realizing I had accidentally done so I decided to go on and read this one again to refresh my memory. The good news is these books truly do work as a standalone.
This is definitely darker than I remembered. It’s not as dark as Hurting You, in my opinion but it’s definitely dark. I would consider the first few interactions between Parker and Willow to be dub-con. There’s no sex but definitely some dub-con things happening. From there things take a much lighter dub con feel. She agrees to what he wants if he’ll stop the bullying and get her dad an invite to his dad’s charity gala.
I’m always struck by how much this duo emphasizes how much the hero loathes the heroine. In this particular book it’s a bit more justified in my opinion, but only because he TRULY believes she’s the reason his brother was in jail. Of course, things are never that simple so you can imagine my e how that turns out.
As much as loathes her, he wants her more. His crazy alpha possessiveness is super hot. Overall I loved this book pretty hard.

I did not agree with the actions of the characters in the book
This was a really great bully enemies to lovers romance book! That Parker, oh man..that guy is possessive, alpha and major bully, and I was all here for it! Although as the story progressed you could tell that he actually really wanted Willow in a Genuine way, not just in a revenge way...even if he wouldn’t admit it to himself until later in the book.
I thought I had the ending to the book figured out but the last 10% of the book was just Crazy!!! I had clearly NOT figured it out and was thrown for a total loop! Wowza!! I certainly did not see that coming!
I really enjoyed this book and read it quickly within a day or so!
