I’ve been reading a lot of dark romance this year and I’ve loved most of it but I cannot seem to get into this specific kind. The kind I’m talking about is “you did my family/friend/someone else wrong and I’m going to make you pay for it”. They all seem to read the same with the hero (I use that term loosely) bullying the heroine but finds out near the end they aren’t really to blame and the groveling starts. This book was no different and even though there was a slight twist in the story, it was still the same story. I used to think I hated these types of books because of the dub/non-con but I’ve read other dark books where that hasn’t bothered me.
Both main characters annoyed me, there was too much going on for such a short book and I started skimming it just to get through it. Two stars for the fact I actually finished it and for the work the author’s put into writing it. This one was NOT for me.

I love a dark romance bully read but this one just wasn’t for me. I had a hard time keeping myself in the book but I don’t like leaving a book unfinished so I pushed through. It did have a lot of potential but just felt their was something missing. Parker had no redeeming qualities and willow didn’t even make him work hard for forgiveness after one incident and bam they were ok and in love. Maybe I’m just being picky but I need the angst, the push and pull and leaving him until he realizes what an idiot he was and gets his shit together.
Hating you is book 1 in the Blackthorn Elite series and it is a standalone.
I absolutely loved this new book by JL Beck and C Hallman!
I have to say i love their dark side!
Parker is definitely my newest book obsession!
Willow made a statement that put away Parker’s brother in jail and Parker now hates her for what she’s done.
Even though Willow thought she did the right thing for her sister.
Parker is such a jerk! But oh such a hot one!
There are definitely some twists and turns in here that I definitely didn’t see!
Once i started I literally couldn’t put this one down!
You guys definitely need to read this and it’s a definite 5 star read!
Highly recommend this!

The premise of this book grabbed me from the start. I love this type of bully book, it was right up my alley. Willow was stronger than Parker thought she would be and I LOVE when a heroine is underestimated. Parker was fighting his feelings for Willow through the whole book. This is a girl he has loved since he was young. He was so angry at her for her actions, but that love couldn't be tamped down. I am so happy that we got both POV's for this story. I love a hero that is at war with himself but also is fiercely protective of the heroine. They both come from some seriously messed up families that have toyed with their brains and how they should be feeling and acting. I would like to say that I suspected the twist, but I didn't fully realize it would play out that way. I really liked that aspect, that it was a surprise for me. There were a few issues I had and a few typos, but nothing major. I really liked this book.

Bully romance, enemies to lovers and all the drama needed for a page turner book. It's dark and addicting. I'm usually not a big fan of bully romances because of the usual same storyline and the predictable moments but this story is not the case and it was the exception. This story follows Parker who is looking for revenge because he thinks his brother was wrongfully accused for a crime he didn't commit. Parker is dark, an alpha, possessive and someone who can get what he wants. Willow is just trying to get by, she is not really close with her father and now Parker has his glare on her. I never wanted to put this book down, it was so addicting and I just wanted to know what would happen next and why it would happen. Especially when the ending came, and I couldn't see it really coming!
This was my first “dark” bully romance and I’m just not sure how I feel. The first quarter I was hesitant about what I was reading but then I devoured the last 75% and really enjoyed it. Parker by the end was totally swoon worthy I love an alpha male but he was a bit to aggressive for me in the beginning but I guess that’s what makes it dark. I truly love this author duo their books are off the chart steamy but still have a great story line to keep you engaged. Looking forward to reviewing more by the them.

Rating: 2.5 out of 5 (Still a little bit better than hollow heathens and storm crow)
I actually started reading this book to read more dark romance books and THIS ONE IS THAT BAD. This book contains so many disturbing things for me. I HATE bully romance if when the male character bullied the female character yet he disgraced her in front of so many people and kept on having sex with her and hate her but also love her. He kept on disgrace her in front of everyone but keep wanting her but also don't say it and just let the female character's sad, feeling angsty, and hurts every single time. It's different with the Royal Elites series that also about bully romance stories because at least, the male MCs didn't disgrace her in front of so many people and even harass them in front of their friends, after they realized their feelings, THEY STOPPED BULLY THEM AND JUST GO FOR AN OFFICIAL RELATIONSHIP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
Also, the twist near the end of the story is so so so bad. I don't like both Willow and Parker. They're so annoying. It just gets on my nerve.
I don't think I can read her other books after this book...
