I'm just not a short story person... "Notes on the Pest" was my favourite out of here. Wish I had seen more of that side of Bukowski's writing in this collection.

A mio parere, questo libro non è per tutti: occorre cercare di decifrare i messaggi fondamentali di cui Bukowski parla in tutta l'opera. A un primo impatto, i racconti potrebbero sembrare sconnessi e privi di un intento di denuncia, ma solo alla fine si coglie veramente il significato del libro. Il mio consiglio è di non lasciarsi scoraggiare dalle apparenze, ma di proseguire la lettura e fare uno sforzo per immergersi nello spirito bukowskiano.

The weakest Bukowski I've read. Seedlings of better stories and shaggy-dog tales that suffer for not being truly experienced through Henry Chinaski's squinting eyes.
