My introduction to Bukowski—not sure if it was the best choice. These short stories give an insight to Bukowski’s character. I can understand why people either love or hate him. He does not shy away from the brutal truth of humanity; this entails all violent, nasty, and depressing aspects of life. Bukowski writes about death, rape, bestiality, sexism, drugs, mental disorders, and all the ugly that individuals experience. It’s grim and honest—it’s disgustingly truthful.

But I will admit, I am intrigued!!

Mmmm creo que bukoswsky no es para mi. Apenas me han gustado un par de relatos.
La escritura y los pensamientos del escritor no son para nada de mi estilo, no sé si habrá sido casualidad pero los días que he leído este libro he acabado obsesionándome con mis pensamientos y mis ideas y sin poder dormir, muy mala sensación.

I liked this a lot more than other Bukowski I've read. Perhaps - A) this collection contains a wider range of emotions from the old guy or B) i'm getting grumpier in my old age and find myself agreeing with him more often.
