AMAZING book with such complex characters! There wasn’t so much of a plot as it was just true chronological storytelling. Totally understandable why there is so much hype for this book!! (:

This book was good quick read for me with a interesting storyline surrounding colorism. However, I do wish some things were explained or expounded on better. Also I absolutely HATED the ending! IMO the end just left you hanging and wanting more. But all and all it’s a good read that I would recommend.

Interesting take. Similar premise as The Personal Librarian, but I liked the twin approach. The character development was intriguing and natural, not forced. I may not have exactly a rave review here, but I enjoyed the book and felt like the author met all of my needs by tieing off loose ends comfortably, in a way that fit the story and the characters in their truth.

I really enjoyed this book! I felt like there were a lottttt of themes that the author tried to cram in so the plot line felt very busy at times, with some pieces that weren’t very fleshed out. BUT I loved the characters and I loved the ending. it was a nice audiobook too.
