SpoilerHOLY. F*CK. I LOVED THIS BOOK! So far, my favorite in the series. I related so much to Mayumi - I adored her for her fire, badassery, spirit, and how quickly/wholly she bonded to and gave herself to Faunus (because same girl, same). I appreciated how she owned her sexuality and the fact that she was attracted to him; Mayumi knew what she want and went for it. Faunus was so sweet and attentive. He was there to protect Mayumi, but still let her be herself without trying to change her: like helping her hunt and trap demons. Their banter was TOP TIER, as was the playful aggression they shared. And how well they fought together and fiercely they protected each other. Even when Faunus couldn't fight anymore, he still shielded Mayumi and her comrades. The spice was *chef's kiss*

"No creature is safe from me if it wishes to harm you, Mayumi, and I will make sure it suffers for ever touching you."

Wow. This book was 90% smut and 10% story and feels, and I was here for it!

Magnar and Delora's story will always be my favorite, being a plussize girly with the blues, but Mayumi and Faunus pulled a lot of my heartstrings too. The grumpy x sunshine dynamic kept changing between them and it was always funny to read. šŸ˜‚

I love how Opal Reyne slowly incorporates the lore of the Duskwalker world in each book and not just dumping it all inside of A Soul To Keep. Instead, Book 1 became a sort of guide to the basics: Who are the demons? What is a Duskwalker? Who is Jabez?

Each book also touches some of the questions you'd usually ask during your reading, like "Could a mavka and a human have a baby? What would it look like?" - answered in A soul to heal. And in this book, Faunus and Mayumi showed us what happens when a Mavka dies... And how they die.

Needless to say, I'm happy Opal *promised* us HEA in each book. I don't think I can take a Mavka-less bride.

If only we had a longer epilogue! I want to see more domestic MayuNus please, and their baby! Hopefully the next book gives us more Cameos of the previous brides.

Again, you have been warned! This is the SPICIEST book so far, and even I skipped some of it because I wanted to know what happens next. The k1nks are: biting play, size difference (duhh), br33ding, a bit of primal play, using a mirror during seggs, face riding... Our girl Mayumi is HOOONI.

If that's your cup of tea, enjoy. šŸµšŸ˜œ

Whoa, Opal Reyne has really done it again. A Soul to Touch is the 3rd book in the Duskwalker Series. They can be read as a standalone, but I recommend by number to catch up on the background characters.

Mayumi is our fierce, witty MC who can kick some serious butt and take care of herself. "Kitty" is our duskwalker, who I instantly loved with his inner dialogue, care, protectiveness, and banter. I loved the relationship between these two from the beginning, and it only got better. The spice was perfection for this book! Let me tell you.. the mouth on him, well let's let you find out.

Opal had me sitting at the edge of my seat and devastated me a couple of times, but she took me along, put me back together again, and ended the book with a bang. So many emotions were present reading this book. This is by far my favorite so far of the series. I can't wait until the next one!

I liked this book just not as much as the others but once I got to the end I fell in love more and more. I don't know what it was but I loved the idea of the MMC finding solace in the FMCs presence whether she knew he was there or not (creepy but cute lol). The FMC had an interesting story and was an enigma to say the least. I liked her more as I read the story even though I wasn't as excited to read this one as I was for the first two.

Obsessed. Faunus is my favorite duskwalker so far. He knows exactly what to say and do. Mayumi is a little bratty just like me so I appreciate the fuck out of that. Once again, Opal has made me feel every emotion known to man, and I’m loving it.

DID NOT FINISH: 62%

Put it down and didn't have the desire to pick it back up. I loved book 1, book 2 was okay, and this one just feels like it's dragging. Might try again later
