I just don’t know if monster smut is my thing
But I’ve read three of these
So maybe it is
I thought the plot of this one was much better than the first two and Mayumi and Faunus are both interesting characters but god Mayumi really drove me insane, she sort of constantly would be told not to do something and then she’d do that thing and then when she’d get hurt somehow or suffer the consequences she’d be mad at whoever did that when
THEY TOLD HER NOT TO
And it was written like we’re supposed to root for her for those moments when often I was like, girl, you maybe deserve a worse consequence
Some parts it felt like Opal really just wanted to be done writing it
But overall a fun read
Probs gonna hop over to another series for a minute before coming back for the next book
Anywho
Enjoyed

I received this as an ARC.

This book was book three in the Duskwalkers Bride series. This was honestly my favorite book of the series and I didn’t expect that as I really loved book one. The main female character is very different from the previous MCs and brings a whole new viewpoint to the series. The main monster character was heartbreakingly sweet and I didn’t want to let go of his character. I enjoyed the addition of “side characters” that weren’t fellow brides or monsters so that was nice! The story as a whole was perfectly paced and there were a couple new details thrown in there by Opal that she could write another 10 books….and I’d happily read them all

Slow, somewhat in need of editing.

The spice was awesome. It was SO much filler tho. I feel like the book could have shaved off a quarter of itself and still be just as good, if not better.

Possibly my favorite Duskwalker so far. Great pairing and love the Asian rep. This duskwalker is sarcastic and well developed and talks so dirty 🥵

I actually think I liked this one the most hehe (spoilerz)

I also think I just like bitchy fmcs because... ..
. ... . I'm a bitch LMAO

idk man I just get her okay

YES its weird to have modern language (this book more than the other two I think) but it IS funny for a literal monster to curse and speak so normally it makes me giggle

I loved them both a lot and I guess I'm glad he kept rejecting her soul (even tho it hurt) bc that's what saved him at the end
