This one was really cute!! It was the perfect intro into a new series where we got to meet a lot of the characters starring in the other books and really set the foundation for them. Whilst also providing a cute, Christmas romance.
I enjoyed the characters a lot! Presley was great. She had a backbone and stood up to her boss when she needed to. She didn’t let him run her over or change her plans, she just adapted. She was fiery and spirited and really cared for the ones she loved. You could see her slowly warming up to Jack and really understanding him as a person, not just her boss. Jack was an asshole boss who redeemed himself in the end. He really did adore Presley and you could see him open himself up to her over the course of the book. I liked their relationship and thought they were a great match!
The writing in the book was great. I found it is really easy to read and it flowed nicely. It was a quick read, but I didn’t think anything needed to be expanded on or anything. It was a great starting novella and I’m excited to read more works by this author. The spice was also really great! I loved it and it was just perfect for this book. It added depth to their relationship I believe and made them fall harder for each other. It was sexy and sweet.
My only negatives were the insta-love component and that the third act breakup just wasn’t necessary. Now, because it’s a novella, I can totally understand that the love will be somewhat rushed, but it was just too quick in some parts. Like, I felt that the love didn’t translate into their actions or language towards each other. I don’t know if that makes sense, but it’s just what I felt. And the third act breakup wasn’t needed here and just seemed like it was added because the author felt like they had to. Not every book needs a third act break up and it felt silly and did nothing for the plot or the characters.
Overall, this was a really cute, seasonal romance with lots of spice and a beautiful family setting.

I love this cute little romance especially for the season. It’s a quick start that catches your eye the entire book. The ending had me laughing out loud, a really nice feel good book for Christmas!

novella time! i love novellas they are the best for getting out of reading slumps and this one would be perfect for christmas time
4.5 ⭐️ a christmas book that didn’t let me down, I loved this!
Before I was given the ARC The Holiday Claus, I gave this cute Novella a try, so I could get a feel for Ann’s writing. And boy was it cute, it didn’t disappoint.
If you love the following tropes: Christmas romance, Grumpy / Sunshine, Workplace Romance, Forced Proximity. Then this book is for you.
As I mentioned above this was my first book by Ann and it certainly is not the last. Her books have that whole Hallmark Christmas story but with some spice to it and I love it.
Presley Stafford is the assistant to grumpy Jack Sinclair, who has worked tirelessly for him for the past few years but the one thing she refuses to budge on, is spending Christmas with her family. Time she requested a year ago, so when Jack has asked her to work during the first part of the holidays for an important meeting coming up she refuses. So, Jack decides to gas up the company jet and go with her to her family Christmas celebrations and on a whim introduces himself as her boyfriend, well, you can imagine how this all plays out.
So if you’re looking for a quick, cute, spicy book that will get you into the Christmas spirit then this could be the book for you.
