This is the first book in the Empty Kingdom series about the King brothers. This book is about Cole. I believe he is the middle brother. He is handsome, smart a bit of a lady chaser. He’s a one and done kind of guy. Delilah is a young architect who works for a company that was hired by the King company to design their new hotel. Delilah and Cole met the night she had broken up with her manager. Delilah was drinking and Cole approached her and they had a magical meeting together. A month later she’s back with her boyfriend and imagine her surprise when she finds out Cole is in charge of their design project. You can feel the tension. I enjoyed the characters Delilah gives off this mix of naivety and toughness. Just as Cole gives off this aloof rich guy vibes but then there’s this boyish humor. This was a great story. I enjoyed the characters, the plot, the spice was out if this world. Amazing start to a new series.

Fine enough, but I'm pissed he
told her mom about the secret home she was designing. Seriously what the hell

Meh. Nothing special. The spice scenes were all the same. Nothing about Cole or Delilah particularly stood out to me. I didn’t hate it, but it also didn’t rock my world.

I ate this up!!! Very well done billionaire romance. An asshole MMC who is vulnerable for the FMC is my weakness and Cole was DEFINITELY a major asshole. The FMC was smart and successful in her own right, though a bit cringy and had self esteem issues at times. She also surprised me at times by holding her ground, so I think it evened out. I did not love the third act breakup and would have appreciated a bit more groveling but still a great palette cleaning read.
