Maddox Sterling is your next book boyfriend. This man will give you multiple Os, have you blushing with his dirty mouth, while also instilling you with confidence and insisting you only deserve the best. Maybe more of a book husband actually. I love the dynamic between Maddox and Bristol in that they push each other’s buttons, but they also bring out the best in each other. Bristol’s best friend Dakota is a romance author, which was a fun touch. The tension between the main characters, the spice, the interesting side characters, the great writing, and interesting story line all make this a high recommend for me.

Things felt to elastic for too long. Her trauma, his baggage, take space, need space. Not even hot and cold, just not convincing of solid loving relationship for so much of it.

This was a four star read for me until the end. It seemed very rush end and unnecessary. The epilogue was great though.

Bristol is a 23 year old who just got out of a bad relationship with a pro hockey player, so she uproots her life to another state to take a job in the permanent press for the rival hockey team.

Maddox is a 35 year old ex-hockey player turned coach. He had a career ending injury that forced him into early retirement, but his team asked him to be the head coach and he accepted.

On the night before the start of the season, Bristol’s friends take her out to a karaoke bar,  where she ends up having a one night stand with a guy she met at the bar. Turns out, that man is the head coach of the team she is permanent press for, and while she liked him, she can’t risk her job being a woman in a male dominated profession.

I'm usually not one for a hockey love story, but Siena is turning my world upside down! After diving into the Connecticut Comments series and now this, I'm hooked. Bristol, a young sports journalist, and Maddox, a former player turned coach, make quite the dynamic duo. Their sizzling chemistry is like a rollercoaster ride! Both stubborn, both deserving of their fairy-tale ending. The spark in this book is on fire!
