My Fear Street Odyssey continues with The Surprise Party!

I enjoyed this for the most part. There are some pretty fun and tense suspense scenes, especially the one that takes place in the Fear Street Woods at night, and I found the mystery at the heart of the book to be engaging enough. I liked most of the characters, particularly Meg and Shannon.

However, it is quite funny that, for a book titled “The Surprise Party”, the titular party comes quite late in the game, and the finale feels really rushed. More rushed than that of The New Girl. But there is a really solid twist at the end that surprised me.

Overall, not as good as The New Girl, but still a lot of fun!

Next up: The Overnight!

About 45 pages too long.
This one loses steam after a while before starting to ramp up.
Twists for the sake of twists and reveals without much oomph.
Eh, it's Fear Street, the old school references were a HOOT to get through, this isn't nostalgia-written, it's the real deal.

My re-read of the Fear Street books continues!

This one was decent. I do have to remind myself I’m reading books meant for teens and it’s been a looooong time since I read these. But I did like this one better than The New Girl. Love that we got a little cameo of the characters from that book though! Fun little twist at the end for what it was.

I liked this one more than the others because I was not expecting the ending.

I’m a big R.L Stine fan but sadly this was not good. The story only started getting interesting around the 85% it really dragged before that

I couldn't finish this book quick enough. Too many characters, none of which were likeable, and it just didn't make any sense. The ending was far too convoluted and I was frustrated the entire time. If it wasn't such a short book I probably would have let this one go before finishing it.
