Honestly, the first 20% of this book gave me the ick, which ruined the rest of it for me.
Maven is a journalist/influencer that works with a Tampa Bay lifestyle brand leading their sports coverage. Vince Tanev is the hottest new rookie on the Tampa Bay Ospreys hockey team. When Maven is assigned to cover Tanev's life, 24/7, for a month, they find their chemistry is overwhelming.
Ultimately, the ick comes in the fact that Vince, the coach, and pretty much the whole team (but mostly Vince) borderline (maybe not borderline) sexually harass Maven for the first section of the book and SHE EXCUSES THE BEHAVIOR (girl, yes, you should ABSOLUTELY REPORT HIM). I read plenty of dark romances, but this is not that, so the weirdness of their behavior in the front end means that I don't really buy the love story on the back end.
