In the beginning, Vince and Maven came off extremely toxic especially for each other, and there were definitely some points that did not get talked through between the couple like they should have. However, the ending was very cute and they ended up being a cute couple.

yummy give me 3 more of this (im actually not reading the next book)
fmc was lovely she can't do wrong (can be a little judgemental and doesn't like to recognize when she's wrong tho) mmc so patient waiting for her without rushing her just going her way (he can be a little immature tho). overall they make so much sense i love them.

I WILL REREAD THIS BOOK A THOUSAND TIMES AND NEVER GET TIRED OF IT. I LOVE IT SO MUCH AND THE SPICE SCENES??? OMG IMMACULATE
This was a five-star read for me until a certain point, and that point was reached when I couldn't stand Maven anymore. And I'm so upset to say that because I really loved them both together, and I adored Vince individually, but Maven drove me to the brink of insanity.
I know she has trauma, and trust issues and I don't have personal experience with that so maybe I just don't understand but the fact that all she did was throw mixed signals at Vince throughout the entire book really upset me.
He was so obviously in love with her, and she knew it deep down within herself, but she was so scared that he would end up hurting her that she brushed off every caring and sweet gesture. I mean, the man made an entire garden for you in his home. He's obsessed.
And I felt that the resolution to all her problems being that she broke momentos from her last relationship, was really weak for the supposed hold that the heartbreak still had on her. She claims this man broke her, and instead of the solution being something like therapy, instead it's rage breaking a bunch of stuff?? And if that's the case, why couldn't we have done it so much sooner?? Make it make sense.
Basically, I loved the book and them together; I LOVED the ending. When she shows up in his jersey 🥰 And I'm so happy they're engaged and living their happily ever on the beach, but I couldn't get past the third act angst. It annoyed me far too much for a full five stars.
However, the next book...that already has five stars from me. Teammate's sister?!?! Roadtrip?! AGE GAP?!?! SIGN ME THE F UP IMMEDIATELY! I CAN NOT WAIT!
