“I want to know what's going on in your brain. I want to juice your head like a lemon.”
There’s something about Sally Thorne’s writing that I just click with. This is the second novel of hers I’ve read, and I’ve never encountered characters quite like hers. They’re quirky and odd, and unashamedly themselves. It’s refreshing and often funny.
With the premise of this one and the heavy foreshadowing at the beginning, I wasn’t expecting to like this as much as I did. But she brought it around and it was a lot of fun. I really liked Josh and Lucy (sidebar: what’s with Thorne and older generation names? Lucinda in this book, Ruthie in Second First Impressions).
Anyway. Will be reading more Thorne in the future. Out of all the authors I’ve read and loved, she would probably be the one I’d pick to hang out with. With how odd her characters are, I think we’d get along? 😂😂

i honestly love the hate to love trope but they never really hated each other it was obvious from the beginning. and i did not need to be told that josh is massive and lucy is so tiny/cute/small every other page. also lucy needs to chill out on objectifying josh and shaming men that can’t pick her up.
over all very cliche but easy read

*spoilers? Maybe?*
Why be intentionally antagonistic to the person you like? Does not do the enemies to lovers trope justice, in my opinion. More like emotionally stunted love interest.

Wow, I hated this book. I didn't care about a single person, and I really didn't like the main characters.
And....If I heard Lucy talk about how tiny she was ONE MORE TIME.
