Saw the film first but as always the book was much better. I've gone straight on to book 2 as the end of the book left so many questions... but in a good way!

I regret not reading this sooner in my life, this is everything I ever expected from a dystopian world and the fact that this made me cry and smile even now when that's not my preferred genre says A LOT! The characters were so well built and I love katniss and Peeta together, I need them togetheeer.

A great audiobook “re-read” that kept me company on several recent drives and runs. It was quite enjoyable and sufficiently distracting, (except for when Katniss describes her searing lungs, which reminded me of the fact that I was running and slightly choking on hot summer air).

I’ve watched the (FANTASTIC!) movies many times but hadn’t read the book since sixth grade. Now, I’m potentially planning to reread the whole series in preparation for the prequel movie.

*4.5 stars

I am so glad that I decided to reread this. I think I read this my freshman year of high school so it's been 4 years, and I remember liking the book okay the first time I read it but now this time I just enjoyed it so much more. I think now I picked up on a lot of important things that I didn't pick up on the first time like the importance of the family aspects and things like that.
It took me four days to finish because I have been busy, but I could not put this down when I was reading. I had to force myself to go to sleep every night because I just didn't want to stop reading, even though I already knew what was going to happen. Initially, I put my rating as 3 stars because that's how I remember feeling about it the first time I read it, but I definitely think this is really a 4.5 star book. I am very excited to continue reading the rest of the trilogy!

My only complaint is that I felt upset after reading this, but that’s a sign of how good it is. Katniss doesn’t have a traditional character arc, but she does feel like a real teenager reacting to (and being traumatized by) the horrible things happening to her. I also loved the simple/clear style of prose that made it very easy to read.
