I always thought no one would beat out Danny and Wyn for my favorite Monstrous couple, but I have been proven wrong. Ghost and Aury have a very special place in my heart and I never wanted the book to end while also devouring it in one day. Honestly, the author's note sums it up wonderfully:
Ghost and Aury were both basically smitten from the outset, but Ghost’s anxiety and Aury’s recovery meant they still built up a gentle, meaningful relationship before it turned into more.

Their relationship was so gentle and so meaningful and that's a huge part of what made me adore them. Ghost also obviously has anxiety and I very much relate to his narration style as a result. Still, Aury understands and accepts this about him while also trying to empower Ghost to see himself more positively and realistically. And Ghost, despite how many are afraid of Aury, sees beyond his appearance and rumors to really see Aury for who he is. They complimented each other so well and really lifted each other up without requiring or wanting the other to change and it made it an absolutely beautiful love story.

Another enjoyable addition to the series, I really liked Ghost and Aury! I appreciated that Ghost was tender hearted from the beginning, and I also appreciated that Aury was truly a “monster” but still loving. I don’t really like the whole Mary RV subplot, so not sure how the next book will be, but I’m still excited to continue with the series because I love all these characters and the romance.
