I’m so happy! I had some critiques on the last book, Edin, but I’m super happy to say this one does it nice. This does it good. That sounded weirdly sexual. Anyways.

I can’t put into words how glad I am that this was good. I was a bit worried that after the little mess that was Edin the quality of the next books would go down. I now know that they will not. In fact, I knew from the end of chapter two that the author was ON IT.

Rycke was filled with details that were missing from Edin, and dare I say, Soul Eater. It painted a clearer picture of the military and its role in this world and also, of course, how raider life worked. The characterization was present (yes!) There was a big assemble of interesting and varying characters (yes yes!!) And the romance (yes yes yes!!!) WAS THERE. You read that correctly. The romance was there!

I’m weirdly so happy for the author. So many things worked on this one, and I’m so glad they did. An editor/proofreader was definitely present (thank you, editor/proofreader.) This was such a step up from Edin, even Soul Eater (maybe,) that I’m almost tempted to give it five stars just from the joy of seeing the progress.

That atrocity aside, I’m so glad. I enjoyed this, and I’m excited to see wherever we’ll go next. Gah. (As Edin would say.)

Das Buch war interessant.
Zwei Punkte:

1. Das "3rd act break-up" – mal wieder unnötig. WIE IMMER.
2. Der Sprung von „er ist nicht fähig, sich verbal auszudrücken“ zu „er plaudert ohne Probleme“ war mir zu schnell und zu plötzlich.
   Ansonsten ein gutes Buch.

English:
The book was interesting.
Two points:

1. The "3rd act break-up" – once again unnecessary. LIKE ALWAYS.
2. The jump from "he’s not able to express himself verbally" to "he chats without any problems" was too quick and too sudden for me.
   Other than that, a good book.
