Man I love this series. So creative, so well written, such hot and creative smut, such wonderful characters. I think One and Ghost are my fave so far.

I didn’t know when I picked up this series that I’d love it so much.

I adore a gorgeous overthinking, people pleaser MC, perhaps because I see myself in them. It was fascinating to see the world Lily Mayne has created through the raiders’ POV - the fragile nature of safety and desperation for successful cooperation or death. Aury was a precious little butterfly. His struggles were heartbreaking, his story arc was beautiful to read. His journey was very different to the first two monsters we meet in book 1 and 2.

This was truly the book for side characters that I wanted to sink my teeth into! Strong and silent Lilac, intriguing and wicked Moth and weight-of-the-world-on-her-shoulders Anchor. I would read a book about any of them in a heartbeat.

While I appreciated the twists and turns of the plot and the hurt/comfort romance, the ending didn’t really do it for me. It felt too easily resolved and then wasn’t tied up neatly enough for my liking. I need a ‘bigger picture’ in this series, more of a purposeful goal for the characters, like an encompassing challenge that is threaded through the plot for the characters to look ahead to, rather than the 'take events as they come' mentality I'm seeing.

I’ll look forward to the next one in the series.

I liked Aury and Ghost (What kind of name is Gage ?), they are cute together. Their romance doesn't seem to be as rushed as book two, but still fast paced. Loved the contradiction of Aury - sweet, innocent and peaceful vs. dangerous, violent and protective.
Also we learn more about the life in raider camps. The side characters are ... fine. I liked Rig (naive sunshine) and Lilac (grumpy with a good heart). Anchors personality was more like: find Cat, i don't want to be leader, we vote and Ghost go do this/that. (Are there no other scouts ?)
Cutter was your typical asshole, who only complains, starts trouble and doesn't contribute to anything. Could see him come back and make more trouble for the camp. (Drama a la The Waking Dead)
I expected to see the previous couples, which didn't happen, but we got to meet Moth. So, there is that.
The second part of the book felt kinda weak and unsatisfactory. Their problems just disappeared without being really solved. And they still don't know about Cat and now Rig is gone too.
