I hit a slump and had a hard time getting back into this but then the end was so good. I love post apocalypse stories, I love overprotective lovers, and I love the character development. So even tho it lost me for a bit, I’m glad I came back

i loved this so much!! this is definitely my favorite book in the series so far. i LOVE aury, he is the definition of ‘is a cinnamon roll but can kill you’

This series is different. It has the potential to be amazing but it just manages to be good. The world has been devastated by monsters and yet our human MMCs don't seem to have any trouble finding them attractive and boyfriend material.
And the leap of 20 years doesn't erase homophobia, making the series' exclusively MM couples feel forced.
If this were a cute little series with some humor, then none of this would bother me. I just feel like it pulls away from the real, desperate feeling of this post-apocalyptic landscape, adding a layer of fiction over it.
And then one of my most hated tropes was used. One MC leaving the other "for their own good". Hate, hate, hate that with passion.
All that aside, I love Gage. So earnest and kind. I also love Aury. He just needs to be wrapped up in a warm blanket and kept safe from the mean, mean world. I volunteer.

I still love Lily Mayne but this one just wasn't for me. Excited for Moth's book though.
