First off, let me tell you that I didn't actually read this book. Instead I listened to it in audio format which happens to be one of my secrets for when I am either in my studio (or my body is rebelling). I do find however listening rather then reading a book does make for a different experience because the narrator is also part of the mix. Oh and this is a book that I purchased myself through Audible.com.
I both enjoyed and was frustrated by this book. Ms. Gardener is very good at subtle hints but I find it rather frustrating how she then feels the need to point out the obvious later. I also felt that the pacing was slightly off. I always felt removed from the action so I didn't feel any real tension as I was listening to it.
I did say that I enjoyed the book and I did. I love how deep Ms. Gardner plumbs into her characters, or at least the ones she chooses to focus on. I really feel that I know Tessa and Libby. Both women who are strong in some ways and weak in others. I loved watching Tessa's quiet competence as she works so save the Libby's family. And I could relate to both which tends to draw me into a book.
Would I pick up other books by this author? In a heartbeat. A good portion of whether I will enjoy a book has to do with the characters. I plan on looking for more books featuring Tessa.

It took me longer than expected to get through this book. I listened to the audiobook. I like the reader, she kept my attention.
There is a lot of rambling, repetition, and 'poor me.' It's a good story but could have been a lot shorter. The 'surprising' ending was really not much of a surprise.

Oh my gosh!!!! I simply could not put this book down. Lisa really knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat!! Well developed characters with a plot that keeps you guessing until the last page!!! Loved it!!

This book was absolutely spectacular! It was gripping from page one, with many surprises throughout. I've been talking about this book so much that now my husband wants to read it!
Quelle histoire ! Au début, j’ai eu un peu peur de ne pas rentrer dans l’histoire, mais je m’étais trompée : c’est TRÈS prenant.
On est plongé avec les personnages, dans l’enquête, avec les différents points de vue, au fil des chapitres. On a peur, on se pose des questions, on émet nos hypothèses...(les miennes se sont avérées toutes fausses haha)

This one kept me enthralled and in suspense. Throughly enjoyed it.
