This is the second book in the Tessa Leoni series and I really enjoyed it. It did take me a little bit to get into, but I think that had more to do with starting it around Christmas and getting a bunch of new books that I really want to read. This book had a lot going on right away; the Denbe family goes missing and we start learning about all these secrets each family member harbors. I really like Tessa as a character in this series. If you read the previous book in this series, Love You More, you'll know why she's such an interesting character. I don't want to say too much about it, but Tessa claims to have shot her husband in self-defense (this is on the synopsis of the book, so I'm not ruining anything). We really see her grow throughout these two books, both as a law enforcement personnel and as a mother. She works on this case with a sheriff's officer, Wyatt, and you can feel their chemistry from the beginning!

What I really liked about this book is it was so detailed. The business of Denbe Construction was described really well and we found out all the key players in the business. There were so many times I thought I knew who kidnapped the family, but then something else happened and I couldn't be sure any more! Once the holidays were over, I began reading this again and couldn't put it down. I ended up staying up well past my normal bedtime to finish and couldn't wait to tell my husband about it the next day. I recently received an ARC of Crash & Burn, the third in the Tessa Leoni series, and I can't wait to dive in! I want to know if anything happens between Tessa and Wyatt! I always love a little romance between characters, even if it isn't the main part of the story.

Wow. I'm so satisfied by the ending of this book. I thought I had figured it out but there were enough twists to make me second guess myself. And I wasn't prepared for how it turned out. But I loved it. All the emotions I experienced reading this well worth it.

This is the first book I'm reading by Lisa Gardner and I must say she has me hooked. Very great read!

Fairly typical mass market mystery . . .I guessed this one a little on the early side - don't know if that was just blind luck or not as effective subterfuge in writing.

I'd pass it on to a friend who liked to read this sort as well but I wouldn't rave about it. This author has given me nightmares with some of her other books, so this was pretty plain Jane considering.

Yes, I finally got it after putting it on hold at my library ! And devoured it over the week-end, wishing there wouldn't be such trivial things such as sleeping, eating, spending family time and so on.

I loved the plot that kept me guessing, I loved the diverse cast of characters, I love the not-so-perfect typical American family and its ugly background, I loved how appearances can be deceiving, I loved seeing Wyatt entering Tessa's life and now that I loved all this, I bet I'm going to love Crash & Burn the next Tessa Leoni's book that's already on my Kindle ! Too bad I have to work until I can finally dive into it. Patience, just 4 more hours until I can read it...

This book is a slow, plodding tale, especially in the beginning. No one has a happy story, and we get to learn those tales in painstaking detail. Fortunately, this book keeps you guessing till the end and picks up the pace about halfway through.

Justin, Libby and Ashlyn Denbe are kidnapped. Tessa Leoni is hired by Denbe Construction to find them. But who kidnapped them and why? As Tessa starts investigating, the cracks in the facade of the Denbe's perfect life become apparent. Betrayal, friendships and big business collide and no one's getting out intact.

After reading some shaky thriller books, it's nice to be in the hands of a master storyteller. Gardner had me glued to the action and guessing what the heck was going on. I especially liked how she alternated between the POV of the Mom kidnapped with her family for murky reason, and the detectives on a stressful deadline to free them. Great read!

An entertaining and enthralling ripper! A few twists and turns (as well as the overuse of the word, 'murmur') combined with a great writing style and you have a really good thriller.

I really enjoyed this book! The characters in Touch & Go were well-developed, and the overall plot was original, creative, and clever. I'm impressed by Gardner's writing style--I was hooked almost instantly. Looking forward to more by this author.
