The Pool Boy

Age gap (female is older), and best friends son trope

I enjoyed this much more than the first one.

Erika is recently divorced, and Troy is her pool boy and best friends son. After he catches her sun bathing topless, a fire sparks between them.

Erika works as a music agent, and discovers Troy has a not so secret musical talent. She helps him get an audition to open for a big named star, and he becomes her muse to write new music.

Definitely ate this book up. The spice was out of this world

This book had been talked up so much. I dont know what I was expecting, but the book wasn’t as phenomenal as I’d been led to believe. It was good, but not great. I’m not sure why. Maybe because so much of the plot focused on the music career? Maybe I was hoping for a bit more suspense in the “will Jenna find out” or awkward events where they needed to be sneaky in public.

I will probably read every older woman younger man romance that comes my way. I almost DNF'd this one right at the start, though, because there was a lot of emphasis on how physically fit and thin Erika was and also how she got a breast augmentation. I was worried there would be a lot of fat phobia throughout the story, but there wasn't too much.

So yeah, this was pretty enjoyable and steamy. I would probably read more of this author in the future.

Okay so I loved it.. but. I don’t enjoy having a older female and younger male. I much prefer it the other way around older male, younger female. But that’s just my preference.

With that saying, I loved it. And the others!

I enjoyed it, but not as much as the doctor. 3.5 stars.
