I really liked this plot. Was not expecting something with the title of The Pool Boy to be about a Nashville country music rise to fame, where 20-something Troy is discovered by 40-something Erika.

Erika catches her husband having sex with his boss. She divorces him, is super in shape and gets a boob job. She kept the house and has her best friend Jenna's son, Troy, clean her pool once a week. One day she decides to sunbathe topless and he catches her, and things escalate from there. But soon after this happens, she discovers his talent for playing the guitar and singer. She's a music manager for a top country singer who wants to pay it forward and discover a new star. Erika encourages Troy to try out and he agrees.. if they can be in a relationship together and she'll keep being his manager.

I thought there was some good character development for both characters. Erika writes and sings her own songs but she was too afraid of failure to try to go professional. I like that Troy plays and loves her songs. Even though there's a 20 year age difference its easy to see the connection these 2 characters have.

Of course her ex catches them though and tattles to Jenna, who splits them up for a couple weeks until she comes around after Troy chooses Erika rather than their family. Oh yea there was also some good pressure on Troy too, his parents wanted him to inherit and run the family construction business but he really doesn't like it. Jenna discourages from his dream of being a country music star.

Troy is picked to win the contest and he goes on tour as the opening act, with Erika as manager.
