I'm a believer in generational trauma, but this book feels like it's reaching. I recognize that this is a new field of study and I'll definitely be interested in learning more on this subject but this book wasn't it for me.

I could write more but if I did it would be longer than this book was. idk what I was expecting here, but I'm feeling very disappointed.

Didn't seem to take into account that some relationships are unhealthy and should not be salvaged, and that not all behaviours can or should be overlooked.

I read 25 pages. It sounds like any self help book, narrating simple stories.

im gonna track down a physical copy because i have GOT to check this man's bibliography

Very helpful and practical. My only complaint is the focus on mothers as (practically) solely responsible for trauma passed on.

i would have had so much more respect for this book if it didn’t demand the repair of a parent child relationship is on THE CHILD. the book also claims that parents don’t want to be belittled or spoken down to, yet it’s our jobs as children to remedy the relationship because they lack the emotional intelligence to begin reparations on their own? this book is filled with contradictory nonsense that enables the older generations to continue their abuses upon their adult children. i thought this would be a book focused on epigenetic research, instead it was filled with anecdotal self-help opinions.
