This is not really a book I should I have read every word from and I have no idea how to rate it. While I was reading it, I thought most of the time “I learned this already. Is the book really needed?” But the notes made by the characters helped me along. Their wittiness always brang a smile to my face. Overall, a nice book to introduce the Shadowhunter universe for new fans!

This was actually pretty cool and interesting, also the artwork is so good! I loved the little notes from the characters, they made me laugh the majority of the time. Even if I didn’t like the mortal instrument books that I read, I do like the idea of this universe and this book gives it all. I’m giving it 3 stars just because it’s not the best thing I’ve ever read, which was expected as it’s just information about the universe but still.
Didn't read this through and through because it's very....textbook-y - if that makes sense lol! It's a book about Shadowhunters for Shadowhunters so it makes sense for it to be written this way.
I remember pretty much everything that has to do with the Shadow World so I didn't feel the need to read every word from this book. The text about the Silent Brothers and Iron Sisters was what interested me! Since Jem was a Silent Brother, I have always been very interested in them!
It is a very good place to look for any information that you might need if you forgot something.

Review - A great companion to the Shadowhunters books, I loved finding out more background about the world in which the books are set, rather as I did with Harry Potter. However, I did find that it was quite dry in places, cheered only by the comments left in the book by Clary, Simon and Jace. I think that was a clever touch - to act as if the book had been Clary's and, as teens are wont to do, left their own mark on it.
