I'm a Shadowhunter now.
I must say, I loved the 'handwritten' notes from Clary, Jace and Simon. That was great... sometimes a little strange (as in they were taking to one another via the book) but otherwise it was great... There should have been more of it!
The artwork, though I am not an art person, was also really good. From the last page I see there were a large volume of people involved in the art and they all did a good job, and stylistically kept the same feel throughout the book.

Loved this!! Helped me understand and picture everything perfectly, so glad I picked it up!
Not rating, as this is much more info based than story.
Shadowhunter 101. Informative and hilarious, I really enjoyed learning all about the Shadowhunter world, their do's and dont's. The arts are exceptional as well, the Codex is a must-have for every Shadowhunter fans!

16€ ben spesi ;D

This isn't exactly the type of book you sit down and read. I consider it more of something along the lines of when you have a question about the actual books Cassandra Clare has written then you look towards this Codex or just skim the pages for fun and read the comments added by Jace, Clary and Simon (Which I think make the book at least 2x better). This book by far isn't necessary to have or read to understand what is going on in the books but it is interesting and gives you additional in-depth information into the Shadowhunter world which is great if you love the series, if not, don't read it.
i can't give 5* because a significant amount of things mentioned in the book we already know from reading the tmi and tid serials, but the reason i didn't go for a 3* is because the history of shadowhunters and the downworld is written with so much dedication, it's evident so much work went into it. the drawings throughout the whole book are also a great plus, they're so beautifully done, and as much as i don't really like clary, it was interesting to see her process of getting to know the past of her people. jace and simon's bickering won me over tho.
I finally finished this! It's kinda hard to rate and review since it's basically a nonfiction book about a fictional world, and kinda feels like I am studying something. I decided to give it 4 stars because it was entertaining and I love learning about my favorite world, but I don't see myself ever re-reading it.
As boring and full of information as a textbook should be I guess. Extremely nerdy. I might or might not have made my own notes.
