3.5 stars.
It was honestly a lot more boring than I thought it would be. The only reason I gave it 3.5 stars is because of the hilarious commentary in the margins and all the beautiful illustrations.

This book is an interring add on the shadowhunter books. You don't need to read this book to get the adder books by Clare.

This shows the complex world Cassandra Clare created and it's amazing, I mean she has a great cretivity and this book just shows you that it's not something that she dreamed about and done. It's a lot of work and wow.
To be honest some parts you already know (80% let's be honest) from the books since I've read all of them so far and also some things could have been explained better but in general it was really fast to read (if you have time because it took me months omg).

OK, this was just silly. I sincerely hope most people just checked this out of the library, and did not waste hard-earned money on it's purchase.
I finally managed to finish after a year of trying. As interesting as it is to have a companion to the series it's too much like a text book for me to really get into. But I've read it now

Oh my gosh. What an amazing example of a money spinner. Talk about bleeding a brilliant series dry. This would be a nice accompaniment to the series for hard core collectors but from a content point of view; there is nothing in this that isn’t in the books. Yes it goes into a little more detail but the book as a whole felt completely unnecessary.

It's great for what it is! I adored the art throughout and liked having a reference for some of the things within the world, which I will definitely refer to from now on! The notes were a very cute touch
