Due stelle perché mi sento buona. L'ho trovato abbastanza noioso.
All the stories are true...
I finished this book a while ago, but I found it hard to write a review about it.
It's not that it's bad, not at all. I love the side notes from Clary, Simon and Jace. I also was cracking up when I read Magnus reasons for someone to become a shadowhunter.
It's fun to read but it's not like you read something new. Quite the opposite. Some things are dated, and others are already explained in the other books.
But the drawings are BEAUTIFUL

Mostly skimmed this. Read the parts I found interesting and the cute scribbles from Clary, Jace and Simon.
The e-book version is honestly not worth the $13, though. If you are interested in reading it, I'd definitely buy the hardcover (which is cheaper atm) or the paperback which actually has distinguishable scrawls. In the e-book however, the scribbles from Jace and Simon were impossible to separate from the rest of the text, because they were the same font and size. The only one that was easily seen was Clary's since the font size was humongous. Why they didn't choose different fonts for the e-book is beyond me. Everything is chaos in the e-book version, basically. So don't buy it. Really. Not worth it.
Other than the added scribbles and sketches, it was really just a boring textbook... Can't say I learned anything useful that I didn't already know.

Decent guide with cool character comments. But not nesisary to be read cover to cover, only what interests you.
Read- July 2019 for the Book Junkie Trials (The Great Library)
- The first 50 pages of this book took me so long to read, I was convinced it was going to take me an entire month to read but then I read most of the book in one sitting so it for sure got easier to read.

1/5
Unnecessary.
I LOVE the shadowhunter world, but this book was very hard to read and get through. It was just not appealing to me. I kinda already knew most of the stuff and it was irrelevant. Maybe if it had been in Magnus's view of the Shadowhunter's Codex like with the Rules, it could have been enjoyable to read. The images and pictures seemed out of place, and the only thing that was sort of cool was the rune pics.

Semplicemente bellissimo, forse un po' noioso, ma è normale... i disegni sono fantastici e davvero cose molto interessanti... i commenti sono spassoissimi
I think this book was often quite booring and sometimes I felt like it contradicted some things said in the mortal instruments and the infernal devices. I also felt that they tried too hard to include you and make you feel like you were an ascender. However, in some parts it was really interesting, which is why I gave it three stars and not two. I also enjoyed the comments by Clary, Simon and Jace. All in all I think this book is quite unnecessary, but it has a few interesting parts.
