SIX!! AND OLLIE! This series always shocks me how much I adore it lmao. They're so good and I love SIX and Ollie. They're a bit more intense then CJ and Tank but still loving. I really love Ollie and I feel like he's really great balance of a Brat character. Six my beloved I literally had to read his book bc he was so good in Reckless and it definitely lived up to it!

“One day, I’ll give you the kind of home you deserve,” Six said, sounding half-asleep.

“You already gave me that, Daddy. I don’t need anything but you.”

Six and Ollie’s book! As you all know, I enjoy Kiki Clark’s writing and that hasn’t changed. There’s were a few errors missed in editing, but nothing that was worth knocking a star over. There were a few moments that made me shed some tears because I felt invested into the characters, and that’s a good thing!

Six and Ollie were a cute pairing, and Six was different enough from Tank you didn’t feel like it was a rehashing of that archetype. Ollie was a sassy firecracker, both femme as hell and very much into a power dynamic where he was a brat on the outside with a sweet submissive beneath it. Clark chooses to explore a power exchange with Six and Ollie, different from the daddy kink that CJ and Tank had. I felt a lot of time on paper was dedicated to this dynamic being explored - both in sexual scenes and emphasizing the non-sexual ones. It worked for them and the punishment scenes always made me tear up a little, how punishments act as a catalyst of showing care and not letting things fester. I did also love the service kink scenes, and the praise? Exquisite!

We saw more of our beloved side characters, along with CJ and Tank. I am so excited for Houston and Ken’s book, because of the glimpse we’ve got, it looks like it’ll be awesome. My guess is Ken had probably been hurt by someone similar in size or likeness to the bikers, which makes for interesting conflict. Knuckles seemed to also maybe be thinking about things and I’m hoping for a bisexual or demisexual awakening and some cute dynamics there. We also saw it clearly laid out that Vinnie and Mason would be hooking with Tomas, and that will be an awesome book in itself too. Basically I plan to read every book in this series and I’m so sad I have to wait until March for the next one!

The sex scenes themselves? Very erotic and kinky. Ollie was bendy and loved being possessed.
SpoilerThe scene where they all fucked in one room (CJ and Tank, Ollie and Six) was so good! The implementation of pictures was also well done.
I think the only thing here is that so much time was spent on the dynamic, we had less actual sex scenes, and they were often written shorter than the ones in Reckless.

As far as why is book isn’t a complete four stars, it is because I didn’t feel as strong an emotional connection between these two characters. From them to know each other for one day and jump right into a 24/7 power dynamic just felt a tad too much unrealistic to me. Now, there was a bit about how kinky people fall in love quicker or something, and I think instead Clark should just be open that this series is more instalove than her other books. That is okay! I love Jayda Marx and she’ll have characters declaring love and moving in within a day. I do like that the actual words ‘I love you’ don’t come until past the 70% mark, but they had still only been together two weeks then so YMMV how you feel about that.

It just is more helpful when you come into books such as these with those expectations, both for the author and reader. If you are open about the instaconnection/instalove, and a review marks it badly for that, well it just shows they can’t read or chose the wrong book for them.

I also just felt it wasn’t clear when the line from ‘we are fucking’ to ‘boyfriends’ changed, and there wasn’t a show in either POV when they started to have feelings for each other besides sexual possessiveness. Ollie had a little bit more of it, sure, but not tons. I also still have an issue with scenes I’d like to see being skipped - like meeting Six’s mom, for example, or the last chapter (three or six month?) time skip.
