This one runs a little deeper than most of her Billionaire Boys’ Club & Billionaires & Bridesmaids series go. Sebastian is embarrassed by his interfering, reality TV obsessed family. Especially when they decide their next season will include his ex-girlfriend trying to get him back.

Sebastian meets Chelsea at a groomsmen meets bridesmaids party. They get along well & soon decide they can solve all their problems by getting married. When Chelsea’s past decides it’s not done with her, she decides to leave.

But don’t worry, it’s a romance! HEA.

Sorry for the snark, this one actually dealt with troubling issues & was a good read.

I LOVED IT. The characters were different than any I’ve read in a long while, and I really enjoyed that Sebastian was the way he was and not a domineering Alpha because it was 100% what was needed for Chelsea.

Do keep in mind, Chelsea is a sexual assault survivor and is still struggling with anxiety, so keep that in mind if you may be triggered by certain things because it’s definitely discussed.

Honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever forget this book or these two characters. They’ll always have a place in my heart. I’m just so happy after reading this book.

I think I’ve established that I love this author. She is allowed to write billionaires because they aren’t the usual demanding, silent, alpha types. This book parallels in time the prior book, because both heroines are bridesmaids for Gretchen, the heroine of another book that I haven’t read. It’s a little complicated if you want to keep everyone straight, but you really don’t need to. You can read this as a standalone.

I get such a kick out of these setups. Sebastian is the oldest son of a reality tv family. His father is very rich, he married a younger woman who wanted to be famous, and now it’s Daddy Money and Mama Precious and their kids, “a bunch of nobodies who happened to have money and did stupid things to spend it.” Sebastian was able to opt out of filming for the most part. He doesn’t have a job, he just doodles and rock climbs and avoids cameras.

Chelsea plays roller derby for the Broadway Rag Queens, and her derby name is Chesty LaRude, number 34DD. Yes! She’s a blocker, slamming into the other players and causing mayhem on the track. She loves it. She’s also afraid of the dark, terrified of being alone, and prone to panic attacks because of a past event.

Sebastian and Chelsea are matched up at the pre-engagement dinner. He notices that she has no interest in him, and she notices that he’s avoiding gold diggers. Since his ex-girlfriend is trying to get back together with him, Sebastian decides that he and Chelsea should get married to solve all of their avoiding-people problems. Double yes!

Whatever will they tell their friends about their quickie marriage?

“We could tell [them] you have a magic vagina.”

“A what?”

“Yep. Magic vagina. Or one like a Venus flytrap. My dick went inside and never came back out.”

There’s also this bit:

“You can dress and act however you want when we’re together, you know,” Sebastian said.

She gave him a challenging look. “I know that. I don’t need your permission.”

He scratched his head, feeling sheepish. “I didn’t mean it like that.”

She reached out and patted his knee, the first contact she’d made with him since starting her horrible story. “It’s all right. I know your penis makes you think that you make all the decisions.”

Basically, Sebastian is the nicest billionaire without a job in a platonic marriage that you’ll ever meet. And Chelsea is just sweet. She knows she’s broken, she’s trying to fix it, but meanwhile she just needs to cuddle and keep all the lights on. And make vegan soap for her Etsy shop.

Sebastian’s family provides just enough campy drama, and Chelsea’s friends offer great moral support. You’ll laugh, you might cry, and you’ll find a whole new use for roller skates.

A good read! I've read one other book from this author andI'm interested in reading more!

Not a favourite, but this is a reread, and I still enjoyed it. Not sure what factors are at play, but I didn’t blubber, despite
everything to do with her rape, PTSD, and her rapist popping back up with a sex tape for blackmail

There comes a time when you pick a book you love. That book gives you chills, makes you so giddy that you cannot control yourself and you realise that you reached the jackpot. Even more awesome is the book comes from your favourite author then its becomes dynamite.

Everyone loves a billionaire stories. I love them. Lets say im addicted to them. Well im addicted to Jessica Clare's billionaires. Each of her billionaires like this one captivates me and makes me swoon and fall in love. I feel so giddy(yes giddy is going to be used a lot). You know that feeling you get in your heart when you read a good, well thats what I got when I read this book.

We meet Chelsea Hall, a soap maker and roller derby girl who meets Sebastian Cabral, an heir to a fortune and billionaire at one of their friends' engagement party. They decide to have a fake marriage and little did they know they will actually fall in love.

Jessica Clare gives a new and refreshing story of a woman with a broken past and a man with family that irritates him. She gave us a unique outlook on a womans personal journey to love someone nomatter how dark your path is. I totally loved it.

The characters were funny, charming and simply irresistable. I was addicted and I wanted more of them. Chelsea Hall a woman plagued by a horrible past was the character I gravitated towards. I loved how strong she. Sebastian Cabral a man who had no sense on what to do with his life, lost and often stressed by his family was the perfect man for Chelsea. He made me swoon and I loved that he wasnt a douche like most billionaires I read about. The chemistry between them was flawless and their sexy banter was so infectious that I was smiling from ear to ear.

The Billionaire takes the Bride is a story of hope, bravery and love. This story made me believe that no matter how dark your past and nomatter what horrible things you go through love will found you.

I could not stand the lead males mother. Even after she committed a heinous mistake she was only slightly apologetic. It disgusted me that they even had anything to do with her after this, I also could not believe the way that they dealt with the trauma felt by the lead female. After renewing her trauma they should have at least gotten some assistance for her through a therapist. The rest of the story was just Meh.....

I was totally captivated by this heartwarming and funny story. This is a refreshing tale of a billionaire who wants to be his own man, separate from his crazy family and a woman who is both kick-ass strong and yet vulnerable as well. Sebastian and Chelsea are from two different worlds but are so perfect for each other. When they meet at their mutual friends engagement party, they feel so comfortable with each other and really connect. They are both looking for a solution to issues in their lives and realize that they can help each other out. When they decide that getting married for show and living together as friends is the best solution, what can go wrong? Chelsea is a soap maker by day and a roller derby skater by night. She is kind, loyal, and quirky. She has a tragic past that haunts her but she is strong and brave enough that she is not looking for Sebastian to fix her. Sebastian is a creative, patient, loving and understanding hero. He sees all of Chelsea's contradictions and gives her the safety to be everything that she is. I love that Ms. Clare took the time to grow and develop their friendship/relationship into something strong and beautiful. Their banter was witty and intelligent and their chemistry felt real and genuine. I loved this wonderfully sweet and funny friends to lovers story and I look forward to reading more from this series.

I received an Arc from the author that did not influence my honest review.
