Ooof! I finished this book in a rush of emotion. It is a small book packed with a big punch. Beautifully written, achingly sad in the inevitability of it all.

During this past week in the news, two black men were arrested at a Starbucks in Philadelphia just because they were waiting for a meeting with someone. The racism described in this book is so very much still present.

A Canadian author to boot! Highly recommended.

Ugh you know when you're reading a book and you know it has a bad ending but you can't stop reading it because you want to know just how bad it will be? That dread is the worst feeling in the world. It's just too depressing I can't deal with it or think about it. All the tender moments just hurt more.
