Cardcaptor Sakura is back! This new adventure takes place at the start of the school year and Sakura's first day of middle school. Lots of characters from the other series are still around, and there are some new ones coming up as well. As with most of the series, the story is classic magic girl cuteness and very pretty art.
i've been watching the anime and reading this made me see that it's a pretty faithful adaptation -- with the minor change of anime!syaoran being TOO smooth, i was actually extremely suspicious of the initial reunion because what the heck, no blushiness or awkwardness to be seen? who is this stranger???
seems like an adaptation choice though, the manga reunion is more true to the characters
anyways eriol is being deeply sketchy AS USUAL. i really hope syaoran cracks and fills sakura in on whatever it is that's going on soon, eriol loves secrets too much for me to have much faith in him but i can't picture syaoran holding out long without a really good reason

I'm not sure how I feel about this new series. Sakura is in Middle School now, all the original cards have gone transparent and can't be used and she gets a new key/staff.
Something feels different about the story, like it's missing something that made the original series so good. It's still a fun world though.
