First off... wtf is this book? It was kinda really weird and "You don't do that awful scissoring thing?" and "Aren't you a handsome lady". Wtf... this book makes me wanna kinda puke.

Terrible execution- couldn’t stay long enough as the writing was stilted and not interesting enough to slog through it.

Very fun story with a non-binary main character, the book is about fandom, shipping, identity, enemies to lovers with a predictable but very cute ending.

This coming out story is one that is more familiar to me as I am not sure how I arrived here but I thought by coming out with no previous thoughts of gender Dysphoria. So this helped me be seen. I love it so much!

DNF. The way he writes his characters is "interesting". I don't want to read books that feel like a chore. My eyes start to glaze over reading this due to the writers depiction of the main character and her inner dialogue, which was annoying, excessive, and confusing. I really tried to enjoy this book but it's not for me.

fast-moving, interesting, and characters i could root for. ace rep!! non-binary rep!! i loved the setting of this story, the problems they were facing, and the contrast between frey & greta. only thing is that we were moving so fast between issues i felt like i didn’t have time to breathe. their love story made it work though!

did not finish - one starring to echo the many reviews here that you should steer clear of this lesbophobic author. i picked this up because i saw it had nonbinary rep and as a nonbinary person, i’m starved for good nonbinary rep, but i wish i had read the reviews here or known anything of this author before checking this book out.

disclaimer: had no idea about this author and their comments until after looking at these reviews but I was already done the book so…

this could’ve been so much better, I wanted to love it - a comp to Ashley Poston is practically a guarantee read for me. however, we had so many characters and what felt like so few time with them that I didn’t really care about them?? also the writing…this was so repetitive I really just couldn’t enjoy it. this book just wasn’t for me.

thank you to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review

I tried to give this book its run but its clunky in its writing. Within just 16 pages the main conflict of the story happens giving the reader no real time for it to have any emotional weight. It reads like a first draft with its pacing, taking us to too many places to keep up with in just a few pages. Suffers from lack of research into how a series is filmed, produced, and written. Dialogue also reads as awkward and unnatural. I think it would benefit from a show don't tell mindset. Too much information is packed at the beginning due to its need to explain everything to the reader. I think had the conflict happened later I would have had some time to care for these characters and understand them. But instead, it throws you right in by telling you everything directly.
