When I read the letter, I was not sure whether this author could equal that. However this was just as good, this is one author who I will be following for a long time, hope we see many more great works from her. She is fast becoming one of my favourites, two amazing books so far, this book has everything, happiness, joy, sadness, heartache and was full of emotion. Also, when I thought I had the story figured out, this apprising twist happened. Can't wait to see what this author will come up with next. Rachel Atkins that narrator of the audiobook was well suited for this novel, she is brilliant with accents and portrays in motion very well. I would highly advise people to get the audio copy of this book.

Slightly confusing at times, with dual timelines and lots of seemingly unconnected characters.

A young boy is sick and whilst we start off not knowing the details, we do know he needs help from an as yet untraced family member.

A generation earlier a group of friends and neighbours take a day trip to the coast that ends in tragedy.

These books are an OK read, there is never any real surprise or twist and the writing is quite lightweight but an easy way to spend a few hours

What a load of drivel. Boring. Poorly written ( I could have written better and I 'colour in' for a living). Cheesy storyline, unbelivable coincidances and stereotypical characters. Easy read as in you only need to be 8 years old. Cringe cringe cringe.

I enjoyed the book . . .at first there were parts I felt were unnecessary to the story but eventually it all came together. Overall it was a good read.

I have to say that this isn't the usual kind of book I would be drawn to, but I was fortunate enough to win a copy from Headline Review on Twitter. I'm so pleased that I did as I absolutely loved this book!

The book follows Beth, who has never known who her father was. After her mother's death, she starts to unearth secrets which will rock her family to its very core. The story is told along two timelines - modern-day with Beth, her husband Michael and their 5-year old son Jake, who has end stage liver failure; and flashbacks to 1975 when a group of people were involved in a fatal road crash. As Beth finds out more about her past, the two stories come together in a fantastic story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this, and can't thank Headline Review enough for this proof copy. I wouldn't have picked up this book normally, but I am definitely looking forward to reading more from this author.
