70s crime drama, badass women gangsters and beautiful art, what's not to love? I only wish there was more than 8 issues!
The movie could and should be better. There's a strong foundation here, but it and the three main female characters are underdeveloped.
Ainda não havia lido nada sobre a máfia irlandesa então a HQ chamou a atenção. Além do fato de serem três mulheres comandando o crime e a história se passar em Hell's Kitchen. Mas acabou que a história não tem nada demais.
A premissa é super interessante: quando seus maridos criminosos são presos, três mulheres assumem o comando do crime na Cozinha do Inferno, reduto da máfia Irlandesa, na Nova Iorque dos anos 70.
Entretanto não foi exatamente como eu esperava, além do que a história foi muito mal desenvolvida.
Apesar de não ser lá muito fã de histórias sobrer a máfia (mas já fui muito ã no passado) resolvi dar uma chance. Porém apenas me decepcionei com essa história mal desenvolvida e personagens insuportáveis. Chegou a um ponto que eu simplesmente me forcei a terminar de ler, talvez por puro masoquismo. A passagem de tempo é extremamente confusa e os personagens são intragáveis, não consegui gostar de nenhuma das três.
A arte é boa e consegue mostrar bem toda a sujeira da Nova Iorque dos anos 70, mas a caracterização dos personagens é extremamente parecida. Absolutamente todo mundo tem a mesma cara, as vezes ficava difícil saber quem era o personagem. "Ué, mas esse cara não morreu na página anterior?". Não é um outro personagem com o mesmo rosto.
E por falar em mortes, elas acontecem a cada 5 minutos. Vc mal se acostuma com alguém, pra minutos depois ele aparecer morto.E isso tb me incomodou. Não apenas a morte em si, mas os excessos de violência que acompanhavam a morte. Mas talvez esse seja um problema meu. E apenas pra constar uma das mortes vai totalmente contra qualquer lei da física. Quem leu sabe do que estou falando.
Enfim, li e me arrependi. Não recomendo.

Couldn't put it down!!! [Ok the structuring was a little weak but it was totally worth it]
It was an enjoyable read if a bit predictable at times, the pacing was almost too fast, making huge time jumps it might have been more beneficial to add a little more content.
The premise was very interesting, women who take over their husbands business, show great promise but there was really no character development and the ending was extremely predictable so it felt a bit anticlimactic but oh well, overall it was a good fast-paced story with underdogs coming up and taking their adversaries by surprise, violence, blood, not good examples of friendship and family love with great artwork, both the style and coloring were awesome so at least for that it was worth it.

I didn’t know what to expect, but holy shit this is dark.
This doesn't break the mold when it comes to gangster fiction as far as plot goes, but the feminist angle is refreshing. I also enjoyed the gritty 70s atmosphere and the superior artwork. I doubt the movie version will be anything special from the looks of the trailer, but the source material is enjoyable.
A simple, fun crime tale. I don’t know how they botched the movie so bad when they had such great source material to work with.

Really interesting and I am excited for the movie, but there was one reason I couldn’t give this a 4 star rating: the racism. I know a character can be racist without the writer being racist, and I know how to compartmentalize and everything, but it was still a bit too off-putting.
